I was surrounded by stone pillars that were of somewhat importance to me, each within a foot of my body, all lined up next to each other in a neat circle around me. Panic mode awakened, I stepped forward trying to step out of this suffocating circle. A pillar fell with a loud thud. So I stepped back into place with fear rising in my heart. Stumbled a bit and another pillar was on the floor. I didn’t have enough space to step forward or step back; all I could do was fall to my knees.
There are moments in life when we feel like this. Moments when you feel like whatever you touch is bound to go wrong. Moments when fear is such an overwhelming feeling, it literally takes over your life. I’ve had so many of those situations were everything looks hopeless and giving up was the easiest option. But just before I give up, I’m always reminded of who I am meant to fall back on.
It’s quite amazing how God’s glory is shown through our weaknesses or weakest moments. All you have to do is fall back, and let him take control. One of my favorite songs, Over my head by Bethel Music says “And you crush over me, and I’ve lost control but I’m free. I’m going under; I’m in over my head. And you crush over me and that’s where you want me to be. I’m going under, I’m in over my head. Whether I sink, whether I swim; it makes no difference when I’m beautifully in over my head.” Forever falling back on Him, will make no difference whether its in a good moment or one you would rather forget because you will forever be uplifted and on the winning team.
Psalms 121:1-3 are some of the verses that I always and will continue to use to proclaim victory into my life, “I look to the mountains; where will my help come from? My help will come from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let you fall, your protector is always awake.” So no matter what might come my way, no matter what hardship will come my way, I’ll forever try to remember that the one I can fall back on is the maker of heaven and earth and is always awake.
